The emotional wellbeing of young people can have a direct impact on both their behaviour and academic attainment. However getting early support for young people who are running into difficulties is not always easy to find.
Many schools find it helpful to have direct access to a counsellor on site, who can get to know the school and its staff. Bradford Counselling Service (BCS), via our Off The Record youth counselling project, has over 20 years experience of providing individual counselling to young people and we are now contracted to work directly with a number of local schools, who all report positive outcomes.
We are looking to expand our service to other schools in the Bradford area and beyond, and can offer the service for as little as £37.50 per hour, depending on the type of contract.
BCS is a Registered Charity and members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy - so you can be sure that we work to their ethical framework. We provide a comprehensive and safe service, which includes:
Fully qualified and DBS checked counsellors
Counsellor compliance with the BACP standards with regards to clinical supervision requirements. All counsellors have monthly clinical supervision, in addition to management supervision (see below)
Monthly group clinical supervision
Ongoing Professional Development training, with a focus on counselling for children and young adults
Management supervision with their counselling coordinator, a qualified and experienced counsellor, to ensure effective work practices
Quarterly qualitative reports and feedback from the service users
Below is our fee structure. If you would like to discuss having a qualified counsellor on your school team, contact the manager
